02 Mar Monthly Update for March 2025
I decided to start doing a monthly update post here, if anyone is curious about how I’ve been spending my time. I just finished attending the opening reception for the Northern Lights Juried Show at the White Bear Center for the Arts. It was nice. I’m glad I went and glad that my artwork was accepted to be shown among all those talented Minnesota artist.
I started a new Facebook account just for posting my art and also arty things I find interesting: Eric Twait Artist.
Those of you who know me, know that I lost my wife Maria on Christmas Eve 2023. It’s been a really hard struggle and from that emotional place is where a lot of my art comes from. I know sometimes I’ve been kind of checked out since this happened, so I want to thank everyone who’s helped me along the way. Thanks to everyone who attended Maria’s celebration of life, those of you who sent cards and or meals.
Also, I want to explain what I’ve been working on. First of all, I do want to continue with the style of abstract art I’ve been exploring. I just don’t thing I can continue to make “grief” my theme forever, though. I’m not Edward Corey after all. Also, I miss painting landscapes and nature scenes, so I’m going to move forward with a lot more of those.
I have several shows coming up yet this year, this Northern Lights show was only the first of four at this point. Also, I’m planning on attending some art fairs around the state this summer. We’ll have to wait and see how those will work out.
