About this Piece

This place looks like it could be any stream, anywhere.  It happens to be the Verde River, just outside the Tuzigoot National Monument, near Cottonwood, Arizona.  I painted the first sketches of this when I was there this winter.  People don’t think Arizona can be green and lush, but sometimes it’s wonderfully so.  A few fishermen were pulling up trout on this day, a warm January weekday.  The sun was bright and the water sparkled.
